Charlestown-Nevis- Today is a much anticipated day on the Christmas calendar of activities in Nevis.
Today, Friday 21st December, will see the hosting of the now annual Miracle on Main Street extravaganza, as the Community Development Department, ably led by Mrs. Janet Meloney, continues in its endeavour to maintain the cultural traditions on the island.
Today Main Street in Charlestown will come alive with the many booths lining the street, in the vicinity of the DR Walwyn Plaza, when vendors from across the island, will sell traditional Christmas foods and drinks.
Mrs. Meloney is encouraging the members of the general public to make it a luncheon date and to be a part of the extravaganza.
The action will be pepped up by 1 pm when the traditional folk lore will take center stage. These will include: Sweet Lemon; Lancer; masquerade; giant and spear; Red Cross; quadrille dance and much more.
A bumper crowd is expected to witness the event.
