Members of the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police force have uprooted almost 14,000 cannabis plants in St. Kitts alone in one week

(CHARLESTOWN NEVIS)-The massive uprooting took place in Milliken Mountain, Half way Tree and Saddlers from the period of March 20, 2017 to March 26, 2017.

According to the press release “A patrol of officers reported that they discovered, uprooted and seized, 2,357 plants suspected to be cannabis which ranged from seedlings to seven (7) feet in height. The plants were found in a number of patches in the grass lands of Milliken Mountain.

Police also uprooted and seized over 5000 marijuana plants on March 21, 2017, also ranging from seedlings to seven feet in height in the Milliken Mountain. A patrol of officers reported that they discovered, uprooted and seized 1100 marijuana plants ranging from seedlings to four (4) feet in height. Officers discovered, uprooted and seized 4,400 marijuana plants. The plants ranged from seedlings to four (4) feet in height and were found on empty plots of lands in Saddlers. Officers also discovered 1,100 Marijuana plants which they uprooted and seized in the Half Way Tree area.”

Nevispages questioned a number of police officials about the street value of the drug but was unsuccessful in finding out the value. According to the police all drugs uprooted or seized from persons are secured and later burnt.
