On October 4th, 2024, a total of six charges were laid against Shavere Hanley of Hamilton and Kylah Wallace of Bath Village, both from Nevis. The charges stem from a search warrant executed at Mr. Hanley’s residence on October 2nd, 2024. The search was jointly conducted by the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF) and the St. Kitts – Nevis Defence Force (SKNDF).
During the search, a Glock 40 firearm with a magazine containing fourteen rounds of 10mm ammunition and a quantity of a white substance confirmed to be cocaine were recovered. Mr Hanley, Ms Wallace, and two other persons were taken into custody.
After the investigation, Mr. Hanley received four charges: Possession of a Firearm, Possession of Ammunition, Possession of Cocaine, and Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Supply. Ms. Wallace received two charges: Possession of Cocaine and Possession of Cocaine with Intent to Supply. Both were charged on October 4th, 2024, at the Newcastle Police Station on Nevis.
The other individuals have since been discharged from police custody. The RSCNPF extends sincere gratitude to the SKNDF for its collaboration and support in the fight against crime, violence, and illicit drugs and also thanks the general public for their cooperation.
