(CHARLESTOWN, NEVIS)- The latest incident of gun violence on the island of Nevis occurred last night Wednesday, May 21, 2014 in the Cades Bay area. This was just one day after a Craddock Road resident was attacked and received a bullet graze to his ear. Both incidents follow the shooting death of Clive ‘Uncash’ Walters of Bath Village.
Nevispages has learnt that sometime after 9:00 p.m. Vernon Parris of New Castle was standing in the vicinity of the bus stand which is situated at the end of the road leading to West Bury when he was attacked. It is alleged that a vehicle drove by and opened fire on him striking him in his shoulder/back.
He was transported to the Alexandra Hospital where he is now a patient.
This incident comes one day after Parris was involved in an altercation with another youngster in Charlestown.
On that occasion police officers responded quickly and were able to diffuse the situation before it spiraled out of control. Both men were taken into police custody but were later released.
The Royal St. Christopher and Nevis police force continue with the investigation on all matters.
