President of the Leeward Islands Masters Cricket Association, Atkins Rogers has expressed condolences on behalf of all Masters’ cricketers across the region, on learning of the tragic passing of former Nevis Masters cricketer, Carlylse Hobson.
Hobson’s body was found in an isolated area on Nevis on Friday 21st February and his death has been officially recorded as the first murder on the island for the year.
In his communiqué, Rogers stated:
“I hate to greet you with sad news, but I have been informed by a former member of the Leeward Islands masters Cricket Association, Mr. John Maycock that another former member of the Leeward Islands Masters Cricket Association in the person of Mr. Carlylse Hobson died tragically in Nevis. I do not have the full details but I want to extend condolences to his family on behalf of the Leeward Islands Masters Cricket Association and my own family. What I can say is that he played a pivotal role with the establishing the Leeward Islands Masters Cricket Association in the initial stages when it was extremely difficult to get things going.”
