Keith Scarborough, President of the Nevis Cricket Association revealed on Monday that he has received information that the Leeward Islands Cricket tournament, previously set to commence this month end, has been pushed back to the 13th June when Nevis takes on Montserrat in Montserrat.
He indicated that in the interim the Nevis trial squad will continue its training and practice matches before the final squad is selected.
He is however encouraging the general public to come on out and witness the practice matches and to encourage the cricketers as Nevis seeks championship honours in this year’s tournament.
Meantime, he has indicated that barring rain or any other intervention, the semi final matches in the second division competition will be played this week.
Today Tuesday 14th May will see a much anticipated matchup between Empire and SDA Jets and on Thursday 16th May an equally hyped matchup between Highlights and Pennyless All Stars.
The general public is cordially invited to come out and witness the encounters.
