The final round of the WICB hosted regional Cricket tournament, commenced yesterday-Thursday 18th January, across the region.
At the Warner Park Cricket stadium, Windwards engaged the Leewards.
Windwards batting first, got into immediate trouble.
First ball up from Jeremiah Louis, top scorer for the season so far, Devon Smith, was caught behind for a golden duck.
Captain Theophile soon followed after, brilliantly caught by his opposite number, Kieran Powell, at second slip, off the bowling of Louis.
Then to add to the drama, former test batsman, Kirk Edwards, set off for an improbable run and was sent on his way.
Make that 10 for 3 and the Windwards in dire straits.
However, Cato and Hodge teamed up in an impressive partnership, before Hodge was also superbly caught by Kieran Powell off the bowling of Sheeno Berridge.
The Windwards eventually got to 197.
The Leewards started shakily as well, with Skipper Powell going for 4 and Keacy Carty for a duck.
Hodge and Thomas, remained steadfast to stumps, to bring the total to 93 for 2 and setting the stage for another exciting day, for day two, on Friday.
Summarized scores: Windwards 197: Cato 46 Johnson 48 Hodge 45,
