Law Enforcement Recovers Illegal Firearm on St St Kitts

A joint search operation has resulted in the seizure of a high-powered firearm and ammunition in Newtown, St. Kitts. Between 12 PM and 12:30 PM on November 12, 2024, officers from the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force (RSCNPF), specifically from the Special Services Unit (SSU), along with soldiers from the St. Kitts-Nevis Defence Force (SKNDF), searched an abandoned building. This operation was part of an ongoing effort to enhance public safety and reduce the presence of illegal firearms in the community.

During the operation, an AK-47 assault rifle was recovered, along with two magazines and thirty-three rounds of 7.62mm ammunition. The contraband has since been taken into police custody. No arrests have been made in connection with this recovery at this time.
