BASSETERRE, ST. KITTS, AUGUST 21ST 2013 (CUOPM) – The Government of St. Kitts and Nevis has reiterated its determination to continue the transformation of the society and economy.
Prime Minister the Rt. Hon. Dr. Denzil L. Douglas said the Labour Government pledges in its contract with the people to provide land and homes to thousands of nationals who prior to 1995, never thought they would be homeowners and landowners.
“We have transformed the economy not only by switching from sugar to expanded tourism, financial services, agricultural and other areas of endeavour, and not only by successfully attracting major foreign and local investment projects in the middle of a global economic crisis, but, most importantly, by doing the hard work that is required to establish in St. Kitts and Nevis, a strong, well-trained, competent and competitive entrepreneurial class among our local people,” said Prime Minister Douglas during his weekly radio programme “Ask the Prime Minister.”
