King Sookie Takes Yet another Crown-Monique Jeffers-Mr. Physique
St. Thomas’ Parish-Nevis-In front of a fair sized crowd, King Sookie, the dynamic young Calypsonian on Nevis, was unanimously crowned as Calypso King of the St. Thomas’ Fest, 2018 edition.
The show was held at the St. Thomas’ Primary School, the home of the festival, on the evening of Saturday 15th September.
The feat was made even more astounding, as he not only won over twelve other competitors, but some of them are more seasoned campaigners than himself.
However, Sookie was calm, cool and collected, as he delivered his winning piece which was entitled ‘Slavery to Paradise.‘
The final placements were as follows:
Calypso Monarch- 422 points-King Sookie
1st runner up- 393 points-DADDY NATURE
2nd runner up 390 points-INVINCIBLE
Intertwined with the Calypso show, was the first ever Mr. Physique show, which saw three competitors gracing the stage in beach wear; creative African wear and GQ wear.
The competitors were: Monique Jeffers; Lou Kelly Carmicheal and Devaun Jeffers.
The judges adjudicated as follows:
Best beach wear-Devaun Jeffers with Paradise threads-106 points
Best GQ wear-National resilience—Monique Jeffers-91 points
Creative African Wear –The heart of a kIng-116 points-Devaun Jeffers
Mr. Physique— Monique Jeffers–282 points
