JORIC PREVAILS OVER NIKEDRE IN TIGHT RACE
It came down to a ding-dong battle between two athletes.
This, as the Jocelyn Liburd Primary School, hosted its annual junior boys cross country event, which was held on Thursday 28th January.
The athletes started close to the Gingerland Health Center and raced along the main road, making a turn next to BRINO’S shop at Hull Ground, before racing back to the school.
First it was Joric Daniel, one of the school’s top athletes, leading for a while, but as he got tired, new kid on the block, Nikedre NJ Hendrickson, took over the lead.
He maintained that lead until he passed the Gingerland Police Station but as Joric received encouragement from his mother, Joan and others, he dug deep and passed Nikedre, about 20 meters from the finish line.
A tremendous race indeed!
