A century from Jamaican Jordan Johnson highlighted the fourth and final day of the first youth test between West Indies Under 19s and Sri Lanka’s Under 19s that ended in a draw in Dambulla on Friday.
Sri Lanka reached 122-4 in their 2nd innings in the post-tea session when the game was called off. Ravishan Nethsara top scored with 50.
Jamaican Reon Edwards, Isai Thorne, Nathan Sealy and Tarrique Edward took a wicket each.
Earlier, the young West Indians were dismissed for 309 in their first innings reply to 432-8 declared after resuming on 119-3
Jordan Johnson carried on to 149 from his overnight 54. He shared in a 96-run partnership with fellow Jamaican Steven Wedderburn who made 41 after resuming on 28.
Edward also made 36 as Vihas Thewmika took 6-78 and Vishwa Lahiru 3-61 for the young Sri Lankans.
Scores in the match: Sri Lanka Under19s 432-8 declared and 122-4; West Indies U19s – 309. The second and final youth test bowls off on Monday.
