On Wednesday, May 29th, the Nevis Equestrian Center was bustling with activity. Erika Guilbert, the Center’s Manager, welcomed a group of students from the Preschool division of Maude Cross Preparatory School.
Ms Guilbert and Teacher Smith arranged the visit so the children could get an up-close look at the animals at the centre. The children had the opportunity to listen to the sounds the animals made, touch them, and observe them up close. They also learned about how to care for the animals.
The animals on display included a donkey, rabbit, tortoise, turkey, goat, and horse. The main focus was on the horses, as the Nevis Equestrian Center specializes in teaching horseback riding and offers rides at reasonable rates.
Many of the children expressed their interest in returning for a horse-riding experience and mentioned that they would ask their parents to take them.
