Charlestown, Nevis(Wednesday, August 20th, 2014) St. Kitts- Nevis Minister of Foreign Affairs and area representative for Nevis 11, (St. James and Thomas) Hon. Patrice Nisbett have distributed free school supplies and bags to primary and secondary school students of Nevis.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that the St. Kitts Nevis Labour Party and the Nevis Reformation Party have sponsored many schemes for improving education, and this is just one of many.
As such for the current academic year, students from primary and secondary school levels in Nevis would benefit from this newest empowerment scheme.
Each brand new school bag contains pencils, pens, a compass and notebooks.
One lady who received the supplies said she was very happy to get the supplies as she was recently dismissed by the Nevis Island Administration, and was so happy that she could give the supplies to her grand children whom she usually buys school supplies for.
“This has been a blessing and I am so happy that Minister Nisbett could give us school items for our children at this difficult time,” said the lady.
The minister called upon the students to make good use of the benefits, and urged them to fare well in their studies in the new school year which opens Sept. 1.
