Hollywood Set to Take A Break After Creating History

Charlestown –Nevis-His second song, put the icing on the cake: GRATITUDE IS A MUST.

Defending Culturama Calypso King, King Hollywood, sang his heart out, as he thanked all of the individuals who have helped him on his outstanding calypso journey, including his right-hand man, Roger Fyfield.

He was competing in the virtual Calypso finals for Culturama 47, held on the evening of Saturday, 18th September.

This followed his superlative effort in the first round in rendering AH FEELING IT, which describes the horrors and agony being experienced by all, due to the coronavirus crisis.

When the final announcements were made, there was still some doubt that he would retain his crown, as there had never been a two-peat in the history of that competition.

Well, the judges reveal, made it clear that the talented superstar, who has the signal honour of beating the calypso genius in St. Kitts, King Konris, when they were mere teenagers, had indeed created history.

He had two peated and effectively retained his crown.

Immediately after his coronation, Hollywood hinted at taking a break from the art form and pointed to the fact that he will bow out, in order to allow his son Akedo, to now take the lead as top calypsonian on the island.

Hollywood beat DIS AND DAT into the first runner-up spot by a mere two points and DIS AND Dat led third placed ASTRO, by 25 points.
