Holder Takes 150th Test Wicket; Reaches Major Landmark

Jason Holder reached a special milestone in his outstanding career today when he became the 14th West Indian bowler to take 150 Test wickets. Making his 61st Test appearance, Holder claimed the wicket of Keegan Pietersen with his first ball in South Africa’s second innings to reach the landmark. It was the final ball of the second day’s play as West Indies worked their way back into the first Test match at SuperSports Park.

With this performance, Holder joined an elite group of top-class cricketers to score over 2500 runs and capture over 150 wickets. He becomes only the second West Indian to reach this “double”. The other is the greatest allrounder of all time Sir Garfield Sobers, who scores 8,032 runs and took 235 wickets in his amazing career of 93 Test matches which spanned from 1954 to 1974.
