High Schools Receive Trophies and Medals from Basketball Tournament
Two important presentations were made on the morning of Wednesday 29th May, simultaneously, as the Department of Sports coordinated the handing over of medals and trophies to the deserving schools and players, who participated in the recently concluded inter high schools’ Basketball league.
At the Charlestown Secondary school, during the morning assembly period, Deputy Director of Sports, Brian Dowe, chaired the proceedings and representatives of sponsors, the RBTT Bank, graciously handed over the winner’s trophy and medals to the champion school, to loud cheers from their school mates.
The RBTT representatives indicated that the Bank was happy to be a part of such exercises and it was all about giving back to the community.
Up at the Nevis International Secondary School, the third placed team was duly given their medals by Miss Hyacinth Pemberton, manager at the Development Bank, who noted that whenever youths are involved, the Bank is always on board, to encourage them into positive activities.
Raybo Smith of the Department of Sports applauded the team members for their efforts and encouraged them to try harder next time around.
A similar presentation will be made at the Gingerland Secondary School, tomorrow Friday 31st May, to the second placed team in the tournament.
