On January 31, 2022, Shirbon Eddy, 31, of Taylor’s, was charged with possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life. On May 24, 2024, he appeared before the High Court presided over by His Lordship Justice Iain Morley KC, where he pleaded guilty to the charge of possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life. He was then sentenced to six years and eight months of imprisonment on Thursday, August 1, 2024. The time he spent on remand will be credited to his sentence.
Shaquille Liburd, 28, of Conaree Village, was charged with the murder of Constance Thompson on April 29, 2019. He appeared before the High Court, and on December 22, 2023, a guilty verdict was returned for the charge of murder. On Friday, August 2, 2024, Mr. Liburd was sentenced to sixty (60) years of imprisonment. Time spent on remand will be counted, and Mr Liburd will be eligible for a remission of one-third of his sentence for good behaviour.
