Gold tigers dominate at VOJN Cross Country Relays

The Gold Tigers were the dominant force as the VOJN Primary school hosted its annual Cross country relays.
The senior athletes commenced their runs in the vicinity of the Vance Amory International Airport, running along the main road and making a turn by the Nevis Pottery, back to the school.

All the while, the baton exchanges created much excitement for the fair number of spectators and well-wishers.

STREET FOOTBALL RETURNS TO Nevis
After successfully hosting a one day tournament of STREET FOOTBALL in 2014, the Nevis Youth and Sports Department will be hosting a similar event this coming Saturday -13th February.
According to Sports officers Vijay Harinarine and Kerisha Powell, interested teams must register at the Youth and Sports Department by Friday 12th February as eight teams have already registered and there is only room for two more teams.
The event, as was the case in 2014, will be held at the hard court in Brown Hill beginning at 3pm.
Each team will be allowed to register eight players but only four players can be on the court at any given time.
According to Harinarine the concept came about as a supplement to the plans by the Nevis Football Association, to commence the local Football league sometime around Easter.
He noted that it will be a highly skilled and intense tournament and will bring out the best in the players.
Powell noted that there was no registration fee and spectators will be able to view all of the excitement free of cost.
