Basseterre, St. Kitts (SKNIS): In solemn recognition of his immense contributions to the Government and people of Saint Kitts and Nevis, the Government will host an Official Funeral for the Former Member of Parliament for St. Christopher Number Four and Former Minister of Youth Empowerment, Sports, Information Technology, Telecommunications and Posts, The Honourable Glenn ‘Ghost’ Phillip. The Honourable Phillip passed away on August 1st, 2024, at the age of 57.
The Official Funeral is scheduled for Tuesday, August 20th, 2024, at the Antioch Baptist Church, located at Lime Kiln Commercial Development, Basseterre, St. Kitts. The viewing and tributes will begin at 1:00 p.m., followed by the Official Service at 2:00 p.m. In honour of his memory, all national flags on government buildings will be flown at half-staff on the day of the funeral.
Before the Official Funeral, Honourable Phillip will lie in state at Government Headquarters, allowing members of the public to pay their respects and reflect on his extraordinary legacy. The lie-in-state ceremony will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on August 20th, 2024. A Book of Condolence will also be available for signing.
Honourable Phillip was a deeply respected and influential figure in Saint Kitts and Nevis. His passion for sports and unwavering commitment to the development of our nation were evident in his tireless efforts, particularly in basketball, cricket, and other sports. His enduring contributions have left an indelible mark on our community.
