When the St. James’ Primary School, won over the St. Thomas’ Primary School, in the semi-finals of the ongoing Primary Schools’ football tournament, on Wednesday evening, a sea of red invaded the field at ET Willet Park.
The victory meant a lot to the young Footballers, teachers, parents and other supporters of the school.
One supporter stated gleefully: “We have the smallest school in terms of numbers, but we have the talent. That win is like David killing Goliath!’
Amidst the celebrations, however, the school is looking towards the grand finals match-up versus the Charlestown Primary School, with a certain degree of dread, as their two key players-brothers Austin and Justin Williams, left the federation on Thursday to represent St. Kitts and Nevis in the OECS Swimming competition to be held in St. Lucia.
It is understood that a campaign has been started to attempt to get the finals, originally set for this Saturday, to be rescheduled until the Williams brothers return home.
