General Secretary of the newly formed executive of the Nevis Football Association, Jamir Claxton, on Thursday revealed that the Nevis Football Association will be hosting its first official tournament for the year, starting this coming Sunday 27th November.
In making the revelation, Claxton pointed out that the Nevis Football Association held its elections recently and the following persons were elected to serve on the executive:
President- Everette France
Vice President-Tasha Parry
General Secretary- Jamir Claxton
Treasurer- Curtis Morton Jr
Asst. Secretary-Treasurer-Cordecia Walters-Liburd
The upcoming tournament will be officially dubbed THE PREMIER’S CUP, as it will be sponsored by the Premier of Nevis, Hon. Mark Brantley.
The tournament will be played at the Nevis Athletic Stadium-aka the Mondo track and will commence with a brief opening ceremony just before the 6 pm scheduled start for the first game of the tournament.
The games will be open to spectators free of cost, but the Association is asking everyone to support their well-stocked bar, which will be available during matches.
The competition will be played on a round-robin basis and then there will be the grand finals.
Teams and clubs have up to today-Friday 25th November to complete the registration process and then a full schedule of matches will be released.
