Thirty-six of the finest footballers from the recently concluded Primary School Football tournament are currently attending a football academy at ET Willet Park.
The football training program is designed to enhance the skills of these young athletes. It began on Monday, December 9, and is set to conclude on Friday, December 13. The academy is sponsored by Ronaldo Belgrove and his VENOM Football Foundation.
The participants have been provided with complete uniforms and receive water, lunches, and other necessities daily.
On Tuesday, December 10, a brief ceremony was held, chaired by the Deputy Director of Sports, Aljay Newton. During the event, Belgrove, accompanied by renowned local football legend Keith KAYAMBA Gumbs—one of the main supporters of the VENOM Foundation—spoke earnestly to the young footballers.
Both gentlemen expressed their happiness in including Nevis in this unique development program and encouraged the children to seize the opportunity to enhance their skills, noting that football can be a very lucrative career.
Following the ceremony, the young footballers participated in intense training sessions led by local coaches, all of whom followed a well-structured action plan provided by the VENOM Foundation.
