The St Kitts and Nevis’ government has honoured over ten islanders for their contributions to the country’s development.
Five women are set to receive the Medal of Honour for their contributions to the community.
Jasmin ‘Jazzy D’ Clarke-Thomas was honoured for her contributions to broadcasting, Orvis Mills received recognition for her work in early childhood education and community activism, Allison Rouse was acknowledged for her contributions to law enforcement, Viola Manning was celebrated for her contributions to nursing, and Patricia Richards-Leader was recognized for her pioneering business skills.
The Companion of the Star of Merit will be awarded to Elsie Liburd-Brandy for her contributions to education, Rupert Herbert for his work in education and public service, Rosalyn Hazelle for women’s empowerment, Conard Kelly for his contributions to agriculture, Oliver Spencer for his impact on the fishing industry, David Huggins for his achievements in business entrepreneurship, Desmond Hobson-Tyson for community service and activism, Edrice Lewis-Viechweg for her contributions to education, Hanzel Manners for his role in banking and community development, and Orville ‘Sailor’ Thompson for his contributions to sports.
