Eastern Caribbean Collective Organisation Press Release
The Eastern Caribbean Collective Organisation for Music Rights, ECCO Inc, wishes to inform the public and all entities that are associated with film or any audio-visual works in the Eastern Caribbean, that Sister Societies such as BMI (Broadcast Music, Inc), USA, and SACEM (The Society of Authors, Composers and Publishers of Music), France and its territories, are making inquiries about their royalty distributions on behalf of prominent songwriter/artistes.
Although these two Collective Management Organisations (CMOs) are mentioned, it is important to note that the works in question are copyright-protected and owned by other rights holders associated with other CMOs. If you have not obtained a licence from ECCO or do not have the copyright holder’s permission for the use of their works, you may be liable for copyright infringement.
In ECCO’s mandate to protect music rights, the organisation has provided and will be providing all information requested on these matters to the inquiring parties, including but not limited to non licencing information.
ECCO will continue to operate within the confines of the law to protect the interests of our rights holders. Yours faithfully, Eastern Caribbean Collective Organisation for Music Rights (ECCO) Inc
