An elated Winston Crooke, the President of St. Kitts and Nevis Swimming Federation, was happy to introduce the youth Swimming team of the Federation of St. Kitts and Nevis, who with continued training will form the core of the selection process for youths to represent the federation in regional and international swimming competitions, for the next several years.
He was quick to point out that others can be added to the team, but they must attain the high standard that has been established.
The dream team comprised of those swimmers who survived the four weeks of intense training provided by international swim Coach, Yash Daryanani and his support crew of local coaches from St. Kitts and Nevis.
The full team is: Austin Williams, Aunri Pemberton, Justin Williams, Troy Nisbett, Jazelle Connor; Skyla Connor, Anjua Pemberton, Pratyaksh Sharma, Aiden Liburd, Hrishi Srinivasan, Dylan Theron, Rashida Nisbett, Isrealle White, Abhijith Srinivasan, Nazanu Chiverton, Julian Nisbett, Kalleigh Wilson
From this team, three individuals have been selected to represent St. Kitts and Nevis in an upcoming swimming competition, slated for St. Lucia in November of this year.
The three selected for this first competition, are Austin Williams, Justin Williams and Skyla Connor.
Coach Yash for his part thanked the parents and the swimmers for their sacrifice and time over the past four weeks and opined that one day, one or more of the swimmers will bring gold to St. Kitts and Nevis.
Special credit was extended to local Swim Coach, James Weeks, who was the one who initially started a youth swim club on Nevis and to Winston Crooke, who has sacrificed tremendously to make this dream a reality.
