Charlestown, Nevis (Monday, May 11, 2020) – Dr. Judy Nisbett, Chairman of the Nevis COVID-19 Task Force, is urging persons on Nevis to adhere to the regulations as stipulated, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
She pointed out that in doing so, individuals will be protecting themselves from spreading the virus to others and also preventing others from spreading the virus to them.
Some of the aspects of concern, are persons coughing, sneezing, speaking or singing in close proximity to others, not protected by wearing masks.
Another area of concern is the fact that the virus can be contracted by persons making contact with surfaces where they have been lodged and then making contact with their eyes, noses and mouths.
Dr. Nisbett was speaking at the recent press briefing held at the Disaster Preparedness conference room, on Monday, May 11, 2020.
She also gave an update as regards current statistics pertinent to the island of Nevis as follows:
101 persons tested; 100 results received; 96 negative results; 4 persons positive; 4 persons recovered; 1 result pending; 217 persons released from quarantine; no persons in isolation
