The SKN Moves Nevis Chapter will be hosting its next big event for the year.
Hot on the heels of the half-island relay walk, the Bike relay is now set for Sunday 28th November.
According to chief Coordinator, Sheilagh James, the inaugural event last year, was a huge success and this year, it is expected will be even bigger and better.
The SKN Moves Nevis Chapter is collaborating with the National weight loss program and the Ministry of Health and Gender Affairs, to host the event.
As a matter of fact, the Department of Gender Affairs will be one of the main sponsors this year, as the event will be a feature for their focus on men, as international men’s day will be celebrated on November 19th.
Other sponsors of the event include Kurt Swanston and the Nevis Food Center, who will provide OASIS water for the day; Winston Crooke, who will provide the bikes; ICDF and the National weight loss program.
The Ricaldo Caines law firm has already provided the grand rotating trophy, which will be presented to the winning team.
The organizers are limiting registrations to just seven teams of three persons each. It will be a men-only event this year.
Each team will be given a particular pin code and each cyclist will insert the relevant letters in the pin, on completion of each lap, until four laps are completed.
The laps will commence on the Samuel Hunkins drive, making a right turn by the Roman Catholic Church; head into Charlestown and end in the TDC car park area.
Registration can be completed at the Health Promotion Unit, at $15.00 per person, which will effectively take care of breakfast for the participants.
Race time is 6 am on the big day
