The excitement was fever pitched and the students of the Charlestown Secondary School were all geared up and ready to go, as the school held its annual road relay on Friday 10th February.
This followed hot on the heels of the Teachers’ race which was held a few days before.
The athletes commenced at the school’s gate and raced through the ET Willet Park, onto the main road and back to the school.
They were loudly cheered by members of the sizeable crowd as the various baton exchanges were made.
