Charlestown-Nevis- It can simply be referred to as OPERATION PAYING IT FORWARD.
Representatives of the Charlestown Secondary School’s class of 2001, have collectively agreed to give back to their alma mater, in a tangible and meaningful way and are using the tag line ‘PAY IT FORWARD.’
Principal at the Elizabeth Pemberton Primary School, Ms. Shenelle Pemberton and Deputy Principal at the Joycelyn Liburd Primary school, Ms. Shenella Joseph, noted that as part of the CSS graduating class of 2001, they have done fairly well in life and decided that after over 20 years into pursuing their individual careers, it was as good a time as any, to give back to the school, that helped to mould and shape them into what they have become.
They are not going to get involved in fundraisers either.
They will be digging deep into their pockets to provide the funds for all of their donations to the school that they love dearly.
Commencing on Wednesday 2nd March, the class of 2001, will make three presentations of awards at the CSS annual graduation ceremony, as follows:
Academic excellence
Academic consistency
Academic improvement
These awards will become annual in nature and the group is also planning other ways of contributing to the welfare of the school.
The Teachers at CSS have gravitated to the plans of the group and have selected the students for the first set of awards.
The class of 2001 consists of many individuals who are making their mark in life, at home and abroad and some of these individuals includes Myella Wade; Tiana Liburd; Phil Jones; Lovelle Cranston; Trecia Williams-Stanley; Simmone Sargeant; Cinetia Chapman; Cindy Liburd; Ruel Sargeant; Jessie Hunkins; Alecia Hanley and Hezron Wade, to name a few of the over 50 former graduates.
