The first round of matches for the upcoming Leeward Islands Masters’ Cricket tournament, to be played in St. Kitts this year, has been determined.
During the popular TALKING SPORTS program on ZIZ radio on Thursday night, the President of the Leewards Masters’ Cricket Association, Anthony Rawlins, facilitated a draw, along with hosts of the program, Theo Clarke and Earl Smithen.
Antigua as the last champions from 2019, was established as one of the teams to play the first match and the other teams were numbered and placed in a bag for a draw.
When the draw was made, the following schedule of round one matches was established:
Match one: Antigua v Anguilla
Match two: St. Kitts v St. Maarten
Match three: Nevis versus the winner of the first match.
The host country St. Kitts will be responsible for scheduling the ensuing games.
The tournament is slated for next weekend, from Friday 26th to Sunday 28th May, with an opening ceremony on the evening of Thursday 25th May, at Government House.
