Scores of Nevisians braved the inclement weather on Sunday to travel to St. Kitts to witness the final set of matches to be played at Warner Park for CPL 2022.
According to one fan: “The boat ride to St. Kitts on MV Mark Twain was something else. There were times when it seemed like the boat was going to topple over and some people were screaming but Captain Lester really knows his onions and he got us there safely.
We may have gotten there sooner but you don’t want to see how some people were pulling back the boat, the way they were gripping their seats and people close to them!”
The fans were able to witness the first game of the day and the grand women’s finals but after waiting for several hours for the run-up and outfield to dry out sufficiently, the scheduled match between the home team, SKN Patriots and Amazon Warriors, was eventually called off, with the safety of the players being the main priority.
The local fans returned to Nevis, again braving the rough seas, sorely disappointed.
