In previous years, the West Indies Cricket Board has fielded a youthful team in the regional tournament, featuring many of their youthful rising stars.
In the absence of such a team in this year’s regional tournament, which commences today-Wednesday 9th February, many pundits are thinking that it would have been useful if the under 19 cricketers who represented the Windies in the recent youth world cup, would have found spaces in the teams in their respective territories.
The Windwards Volcanoes ought to be highly commended
Within their squad are Ackeem Auguste, the Windies Rising stars Captain and Teddy Bishop, who had a fair run in the recent tournament.
Many local cricket pundits are disappointed that the trio of Onaje Amory, Carlon Bowen Tuckett and Jaden Carmichael were not included in the Hurricanes setup, at the expense of some of the more seasoned veteran’s, who may be in the twilight of their playing careers.
