The much-anticipated semifinals clash between Australia and the Windies women, in the ongoing ICC women’s world cup, took place on Tuesday evening.
Australia won the toss and elected to bat first.
A stunning opening partnership between Alyssa Healy and Rachael Haynes of 216 runs, literally took the wind out of the Windies sails.
A couple of crucial dropped catches did not help their cause either.
The Australian team got to an imposing 305 for 3 in their 45 allotted overs.
When the Windies women batted, their top three batters played leading roles, but it was far from enough, as only Dottin, Matthews and Taylor, managed to get into double figures.
The Aussie bowlers shared the spoils.
