Charlestown-Nevis—After a very productive year in 2015, the Community Development Department is set and ready to roll out two more community based classes, commencing next week.
Both classes will be facilitated by renowned chef, Mr. Sylvester Wallace.
The first class will commence on Tuesday 12th January at the Hanley’s Road community center and will focus on cake making and decorating, along with other aspects of pastry making.
The second class will commence the following day, Wednesday 13th January at the Franklyn Browne community center. This one will focus on the making of a variety of delicacies, utilizing local fruits and vegetables.
Director of the Community Development Department, Mrs. Janet Meloney, revealed on Tuesday of this week that the cake and pastry making class scheduled for Hanley’s Road is already fully booked, as some thirty persons have already registered for the course.
The good news is though, that there is still space available for interested persons to sign up for the culinary arts class at the Franklyn Browne community center.
The cost of registration is only $25.00 and both courses will run for three months and will climax with official graduation ceremonies, complete with the presentation of certificates.
Mrs. Meloney noted that in 2015, a soups, sauces and dressings making class, along with a cake and pastry making class were successfully completed at two separate venues and which involved approximately 75 persons from across the island.
