Child Month 39 Culminates with Grand Parade

Basseterre, St. Kitts: The Early Childhood Development Unit (ECDU), concluded Child Month 39, a month-long celebration dedicated to honouring and uplifting children, with a grand parade through the streets of Basseterre on Friday, June 28. The event saw a vibrant display of colours, costumes, and creativity as children from various schools embodied this year’s theme ‘Embrace Inclusion: Every Child Counts’.

Mrs. Kimona Browne, Director of the Early Childhood Development Unit, conveyed appreciation for the month’s success.

“As we conclude our grand parade and our Child Month 39 month of activities, I would like to express joy and gratitude to the entire Ministry of Education, specifically the Early Childhood Development Unit Staff. Additionally, I would like to say a huge thank you to our public and private supervisors, our hard-working and dedicated staff at all of our Early Childhood Centres, all of the parents, the general public, and to our little start, our children.”

With the conclusion of Child Month 39, it is evident that there was a celebration of inclusion, affirming the value of every child’s unique contribution and fostering a more inclusive and supportive environment for all children.
