(CHARLESTOWN, NEVIS)- A candle light vigil will be held this evening Friday, May 09, 2014 in memory of the late Nigella Browne.

Family members and friends are asked to assemble in the parking lot at Valu Mart. Persons will then lead off from there on a walk from 7:00 p.m. to the scene of the accident, on the island main road.

The organizers are asking the general public to bring along their own candles.

Nigella lost her life two days after she was in a serious car accident on Sunday, May 4, 2014. It was reported that she was a passenger in a vehicle and was coming from the St. James’ racetrack when the accident occurred.

The driver of the vehicle, Alec Brown is said to have lost control of the vehicle and collided into a wall. His body was later found in a nearby drain. He succumbed to his injuries that same night at the Alexandra Hospital.

Nigella was rushed to the Alexandra Hospital where she remained until Tuesday morning. She was then transported to St. Kitts after she took a turn for the worst. The eighteen year old lost the battle for her life on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 which is also the day of her brother, cricketer Dennison Browne birthday.

After the word of her untimely demise spread, many family members and friends posted statuses on their facebook page displaying signs of utter disbelief and grief. Many persons remembered her as a sweet and loving individual.

This car accident is said to have been the worst in the Federation. The vehicle was split in two parts, the engine was removed, and car parts were scattered at the scene; thus, making the vehicle unrecognizable.

Pastor Davidson Morton during one of his recent church service told his congregation that he had a vision that there would be a tragedy in the vicinity of the roundabout next to the cemetery. A few weeks later this accident occurred, and has shaken the whole island.

The funeral service of the late Alec Brown is set for tomorrow Saturday, May 10, 2014 while Nigella’s service will be held on Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at the Jessup’s New Testament Church.
