About three weeks after an impressive act of kindness during the annual sports meet at Ivor Walters Primary School, sports journalist Curtis Morton spoke with Zenaira Jeffers at her school to discuss the event.
Zanaira recounted how, during the 100-meter race for fifth-grade girls, she saw her best friend trip and fall. “Nobody went to help her, so I decided to step in. I helped her back to her feet and walked with her to the finish line,” she explained.
Zenaira expressed gratitude to her parents for her upbringing. Although she will not be part of the IWPS Interprimary team for the upcoming Mini-Olympics, she will be cheering for her friend, who is a much better athlete.
Morton referred to her as “a good Samaritan” and encouraged her to continue living a life dedicated to helping others.
