Sheilagh James of the SKN Moves –Nevis Chapter, on Thursday, confirmed that the much anticipated annual half-island relay is definitely on, for tomorrow-Saturday 10th October.
Ms. James indicated that some 13 relay teams have officially registered for the event, along with thirty-five solo walkers.
The walk will commence at Brick Kiln Village, in the vicinity of the residence of Health Minister, Hon. Hazel Brandy-Williams, who will officially send the walkers on their way.
There will be teams of five and also individual walkers.
For the relay teams, the first baton pass will be done at Butlers; the next at Fothergills; then to Market Shop; to the Brown Hill gap and climax, as per usual at the Fit Park, where there will be cool down exercises and a grand breakfast.
Coloured bracelets will differentiate the walkers.
The first team to arrive will receive a grand trophy, compliments of the Ministry of Health and there will also be trophies for the second and third-placed teams.
Participants are reminded that the emphasis is on WALKING and not RUNNING, during the event and to take note that the established covid-19 protocols will be strictly adhered to.
