The Gingerland Secondary School held its annual sports meet on Thursday, February 15th. The event took place at the Nevis Athletic Stadium and served as a tribute to the late Thynell Martin, a former outstanding athlete who was posthumously honoured as the patron for the day. His mother, Ms. Sheryl Sutton, represented him at the meet.
The athletes competed fiercely in various races, including the 100, 200, 400, 800, 4×100, and 4×400 meters, creating much excitement for the sizable crowd in attendance. The Red House and Blue House also entertained the audience with some cheerleading on the track.
At the end of the day, Green House, the defending champions, retained their winning trophy with a total of 233 points.
They celebrated their victory in grand style.
