On Tuesday 5th March, the annual sports meet of St. James’ Primary School was held at the school’s ground. The event was graced by former student-athletes, Shaniqua Williams and Theron Bussue, who served as distinguished patrons.
After a well-coordinated march past, the athletes competed in various races such as the 100m, 200m, 300m, 150m, 400m, 800m, 4x100m and 4x400m. Among all the participants, Akilah Douglas, a grade two student, emerged as the standout athlete of the day. She broke records in the 150m and 300m races.
The day ended with Gold House leading the celebrations, having secured a handsome victory with a total of 343 points. Red House came in second place with 242 points, while Greenhouse came in third place with a total of 213 points.
