It may have extended a little into the night, but the scores of individuals who showed up to witness the annual Elizabeth Pemberton Primary School’s Relay Fes’, were not complaining.
The action was at the Nevis Athletic Stadium on Sunday 21st January.
Most of the Primary Schools on Nevis were involved, along with the Gingerland Secondary School and this year for the first time, the meet was extended to some schools on St. Kitts viz the St. Paul’s Primary, the Dr William Connor Primary and the Basseterre High School.
Clubs such as Etonics and Over the Top track club, also participated.
It meant that the crowd was giving indications as to what Interprimary 2024 may look like.
The races were exhilarating.
The athletes tested their skills in the 4×200; 4×150; 4×300; 4×800; 4×100; 4×400 and some exciting medley events.
At intervals, during the event, several raffles were drawn, which saw persons winning lunches, spa treatments, a one-year free workout at Bull’s gym and a huge television set, among other prizes.
At the commencement of the meet, a moment’s silence was observed in recognition of the passing of long serving track official, Joseph Liburd.
