It was as exhilarating, as it was electrifying.
Some persons grumbled over the late start and even over the later ending, but all told, the huge crowd on hand got more than their money’s worth
It was Sunday, 1st May and the Charlestown Secondary School, held its annual sports meet at the Nevis Athletic Stadium-the Mondo track, in honour of the memory of the late, dedicated servant/teacher, Merrill Carbon.
The students competed fiercely in races such as 400, 200, 100, 800, 1200; 1500, 4X100 and the
4X400 meters.
Records went ah tumbling as if they were going out of style!
Some of the top athletes were: Leon Thompson Jr; Scion Guishard; Tianna Liburd and Akadianto Willet.
Among the persons in the crowd, was the illustrious, Elquemedo Willet, who decided to spend part of his 69th birthday at the track and grandson Akadianto Willet, who made his day super special, as he stormed down the track, securing a couple of gold medals in the process.
A dance group out of St. Kitts also provided entertainment in dance.
When the final scores were tallied, the Bridgewater House or Gold house was the clear winner.

Bridgewater –Gold house 233 points-champions
2nd –Fox or Blue house 204 points
3rd Hamilton or Green house-159 points
4th Huggins or Red -145 points
