Basseterre, St.Kitts (September 20th 2013):-The Attorney General and Legal Team representing the Prime Minister Dr Denzil Douglas led administration received another blow in the Court today when their venture to have the injunction brought by the UNITY partnership against proposed boundary changes struck out, was not successful as the Legal Team of the UNITY Partnership were successful in getting the adjournment which they pursued .
Counsel for both sides have been given time to submit written arguments on an application to discharge the injunction. If the discharge is denied, the court will proceed to the review of the preparation of the boundaries changes.
The UNITY Partners were successful on two fronts as the government was not able to have the Injunction struck-out and their strenuous objection to the requested adjournment by the legal team of the UNITY Partnership was rebuffed by the Judge.
The Senior Legal Counsel for the legal team of the UNITY PARTNERS will now have an opportunity to argue the case on Friday 27th September.
In the meantime the Injunction remains IN TACT !
