Annual SJCIC Kite Flying Competition On For Good Friday
President of the long serving St. John’s Community Improvement Club (SJCIC), Mr. Alstead Pemberton, is assuring the general public that come Friday, April 18, 2014, Good Friday, there will be the usual fun and excitement at the Flats in Cole Hill when his club hosts the annual family fun day known as the Good Friday Kite Flying competition.
This year, the Department of Youth and Sports is also on board in assisting with the hosting of the fun day and will be mainly responsible for coordinating a cricket competition and a Domino competition.
The usual local food and drinks will be on sale and the main attraction of the wonderfully designed kites would always serve to amaze those in attendance.
The all day affair will commence at 9:00 a.m.
A joint communiqué released by the SJCIC and the Department of Youth and Sports indicated as follows:
“The St. Johns Community Improvement Club (SJCIC) In Collaboration With The Department Of Youth And Sports Will Host The Annual Good Friday Kite Flying Competition On Friday 18th April 2014 Commencing At 9: 00 a.m. At The Flats Cole Hill. All Interested Clubs/Teams Can Register for Domino and Cricket competitions.
Pre-Registration Can Be Done At The Department Of Youth And Sports, Upstairs Reliable Motors Complex, Monday To Friday Between The Hours Of 8am – 4pm Or At 9am At The Flats. Come On Out and Enjoy A Day of Fun and Excitement. There Will Be Lots To Eat And Drink. Musical Entertainment Will Be Provided.”
