Basseterre, St. Kitts 24th March 2015 – The Ministry of Community Development, Gender Affairs and Social Services congratulates Ms. Josephine Huggins, the newly appointed Cabinet Secretary.
Ms. Huggins continues to be an inspiration to women of all ages, evidence that with hard work, determination and strength of character, anything can be achieved. A successful business women, former head of the Public Service Commission, Ms. Huggins continues to break through the proverbial glass ceiling and on the culmination of International Women’s Day 2015, Ms. Huggins continues to be a sterling example of a female who has made it happen.
The Ministry is also encouraged by the new Government’s insight in appointing a female to this office. As we continue to advocate for gender equality and an increase in the number of women in leadership and decision making positions, it is crucial that Governments take the initiative in recognizing capable and qualified females and creating more opportunities for them to serve.
