Some folks on Nevis, are still hopeful that their beloved sport of Horse racing will return and some are further convinced that it will return at a renovated Indian Castle site.
The Indian Castle race track was the accustomed spot for what is referred to as ‘the Sport of Kings’ and usually attracted huge crowds on holiday weekends.
Unfortunately, the popular sport died a slow death sometime around the year 2014 when proposed plans for a major tourism-related development, forced the race organizers from the accustomed spot. A development, which by the way, is yet to take place.
Today, the revered spot is in virtual ruins. There are no more horses in the stables and the former action spot looks like a virtual ghost town.
Will the sport ever get a rebirth to its glory days? That is indeed a ten billion-dollar question.
