Chief organizer of the Village Premier League (VPL), Michael WISE Herbert, has indicated that this coming Sunday-27th May, the league is set to resume at the Hard Times playing field.
The league was suspended for two weeks, firstly to allow the players to treat their mothers on Mothers’ day and then last Sunday, to allow for support of the Leeward Islands Masters Cricket tournament.
Even though this coming Sunday will see the hosting of a huge track and field meet at the Mondo track, Herbert noted that the players are hungry for Cricket and have indicated that they want to resume the league.
He is confident that the matches will conclude in reasonable time to allow for the spectators to go and enjoy the athletics afterwards.
Sunday’s match ups will see:
At 1 pm-Beaters v Hanley’s Road
3 pm-Easterns v Hanley’s Road
These two teams will be fighting for the lone semifinal spot available. The already qualified semifinalists are: Beaters; Bushwhackers and Young Warriors.
The semifinals will be played on Sunday 3rd June and the grand final is slated for Sunday 10th June.
