Going into the fourth and final day of their ongoing regional encounter, the Windwards Volcanoes are in the ascendancy over arch rivals Leewards Hurricanes.
The Volcanoes batted first and were immediately on the ropes at 45 for 7 but Captain Liam Sabastian rallied with the tail to pull them around to a competitive 293 all out.
The Leewards Hurricanes were then bowled out for 259 and the Volcanoes, second time around, saw some of their top order batsmen coming to the party and were comfortably placed at the end of day three on 311 for 6 with an overall lead of 345.
However, they may not be putting up their hands to declare too early, as they would be reminded that the Volcanoes chased down a score of over 300 on the final day, in their match versus the Guyana Jaguars.
