Virgin Atlantic will be continuing its flights between the United Kingdom and Antigua and Barbuda amid the UK lockdown, officials said.
The airline will maintain its service of two flights each week through Nov. 21.
After that, Virgin will be running a weekly service between London and Antigua.
The twice-weekly flights will run on Wednesdays and Saturdays. After Nov. 21, the weekly service will operate on Sundays, with the flight then overnighting and departing Antigua the following day.
The news comes after what Antigua tourism officials called a” series of successful meetings between senior officials from the UK carrier, a team of tourism officials lead by the Honourable Charles “Max” Fernandez, and representatives from the local hotel private sector organisation the ABHTA.”
Antigua and Barbuda have retained its place on the UK government’s quarantine exemption list.
